SleepHero is a sleep habit, accountability, and social wellness app. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.
Short Version
We collect only what SleepHero needs to run the app, improve the product, and keep the community safe. We do not sell your data. You can revoke health permissions on your device and delete your SleepHero account from Settings.
What SleepHero Collects
SleepHero collects account details such as your email address, display name, avatar, and user id. With your permission, the app also collects sleep information such as sleep and wake times, duration, stages when available, sleep source, scores, streaks, and challenge progress. We also keep the app records needed for teams, follows, feed posts, comments, cheers, reports, blocks, notifications, push preferences, and wearable connection status.
Why We Use It
We use this information to run the SleepHero app: syncing sleep from Apple Health or Health Connect, calculating sleep scores, streaks, XP, badges, challenge results, Sleep Notes, team activity, notifications, account support, safety reviews, and abuse prevention. We may also use limited product and service analytics to understand whether SleepHero is working well and how to improve it.
Health Connect and Apple Health
SleepHero reads sleep data from Health Connect on Android and Apple Health on iOS only after you grant permission on your device. These are on-device integrations. SleepHero does not store Health Connect or Apple Health OAuth tokens, and you can revoke health permissions from your phone settings at any time.
Retention
Sleep records have a 90-day retention target and are removed through manual retention operations until export and pre-purge flows are ready. Challenge history is kept for up to 1 year for user reference and dispute handling. Feed items have a 180-day manual cleanup helper, reactions follow feed cleanup, and notification history has manual cleanup helpers for read rows after 90 days and unread rows after 180 days. Account data is kept until account deletion. Wearable connection records are kept until revoked or account deletion. Password reset state expires after 24 hours, and app sessions are limited by the configured session lifetime. If payment or purchase records exist, transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and record-keeping reasons.
No Sale of Data
SleepHero does not sell your personal information or sleep data. We use service providers only to operate the app, such as database hosting, authentication, email delivery, push notifications, and payment or app-store processing when those features are used.
Deletion
You can delete your account inside the app from Settings, then Security, then Delete account. The current V1 flow removes your personal account details, sleep records, posts, reactions, notifications, wearable links, and in-app participation records from SleepHero, deletes the Supabase Auth account, and sends a final confirmation email. If you cannot access the app, use the Account & Data Deletion page to request deletion from the email address on your account.
Data We Do Not Need
SleepHero does not ask for precise GPS location, phone number, government ID, health insurance details, biometrics such as fingerprint or face data, or your contacts or address book.
